Assignment Content There are 2 tests currently being used in Ontario for policing: The PREP test is the test required to graduate from the Ontario Police College. Before January 2020 it was the hiring standard across all services, now it is only used by some services to hire. The OPFA is used to assess incumbent police officers AND is used by some Ontario police services as a hiring standard. 1. To be successful on the PREP test: a) What time do you need for the obstacle portion (pursuit/restraint circuit) ? - The circuit must be completed in 2:37 or less b) What stage do you need to achieve for the shuttle run portion? - Must meet stage 7.0 on shuttle run 2. Using Tables A.1 - A.5 located in the Appendix of your textbook (pages 409-415), what results would give you a PERFECT score for each of the following components of the OPFA ? (if you are under 20, please refer to the 20-29 age category). If you do not include your age and sex, I cannot grade your submission. Age: !8 Sex: Female As a 18 year old female to achieve a perfect score I need to: Push-ups: 38 Core Endurance Test: 3:00 min Trunk Forward Flexion: 46 cm 1.5 Mile Run: 10: 35 min 20 m Shuttle Run: 9.5 An example answer, for a 45 year old female to achieve a perfect score for each component, she would need to do: 33 pushups 3:00 min of core endurance 44 cm on trunk flexion under 13:04 min on 1.5 mile run
6.5 on the shuttle run 3. What do you (personally) need to be working on to be successful on both the PREP test and the OPFA test ? Where should you be focusing your training? ( minimum 100 words for these 2 questions) - In order for me to perform well on the PREP test and the OPFA test and to maintain my overall health, I must work out every day and stay active. Practice doing push up, the core endurance, and run or walk everyday. In addition, in order to stay in shape, I have to completely stay away from junk food and consume fresh fruits and vegetables every day. In order to be healthy, I also need to limit my intake of sugary drinks drink lots of water, and stay hydrated. Out of all the tests we have to complete, the ones on shuttle runs and push-ups are the ones I should be working on the most as I struggle with them the most and I need to get better in order to pass the fitness class and achieve the required score.
