The ideas of republicanism and sensibility influenced how americans viewed society as the were held together through loyalty and trust instead of through a monarchy.Americans were kept together with britain threw trade as well as a common language "relationships would be the result of affection not force both at the level of the family and also the state and the culture of sensibility would provide the language for the development of such ties".

Question 2: Primary Source Analysis: Complete the 18th Century Context lesson including the video on analyzing Locke’s Two Treatise before completing this assignment. Base your analysis on the source excerpts of Locke’s Two Treatise and the Declaration of Independence that are provided within the 18th Century Context lesson. Compare the U.S. Declaration of Independence to the excerpts from Locke’s Two Treatise. Where in the Declaration of Independence do we see the influence of Locke? Be sure to use specific quotations to highlight what in the Declaration of Independence is an idea/concept/wording taken from Locke. Explain why you think it shows Locke’s influence. In the declaration of independence it states that "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.—That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed" . In locke's two treatises it states "To understand political power right, and derive it from its original, we must consider,
what state all men are naturally in, and that is, a state of perfect freedom to order their actions. A state also of equality, wherein all the power and jurisdiction is reciprocal, no one having more [power] than another ''. It shows Locke's influence as it states that
all men are created equal and that they have a freedom/ rights that they can abide by.
