Use all four of your sources (two primary and two secondary) to answer the questions below. Replace the bracketed text with your responses. Identify the topic you chose to explore: Climate Change and Environmental Issues o Chernobyl Attempt to write the APA style citations for your four sources. Include links to each source. You will not be penalized for incorrect citation format. References: Morrey, M., Brown, J., Williams, J. A., Crick, M. J., Simmonds, J. R., & Hill, M. D. (1987). When comparing my primary and secondary sources, the two primary sources were created shortly after the Chernobyl disaster, 1987 and 1990, while the secondary sources were created more than 10 years after the event. The primary sources provide an evaluation of the Chernobyl disaster’s radiological impact on the European Community and recommendations for research on the health effects of the disaster. My selected secondary sources reflect on the catastrophe and argue for re-evaluating current disaster preparedness plans as they have seen little change since the incident. Additionally, they discuss that there is needed improvement in collaboration and communication between stakeholders in disaster preparedness and response. Describe one narrative that has significantly influenced the contemporary understanding of your historical event. One narrative that has significantly influenced my contemporary understanding of the Chernobyl disaster of a catastrophic event that resulted in massive radiation exposure, widespread health effects, and a long-lasting impact on the environment. This narrative emphasized the disaster's human toll, with many people suffering from radiation sickness and other related health issues. It also highlights the challenges the authorities faced in containing the disaster, mitigating its impact, and the need for greater transparency and accountability in nuclear energy regulation. Explain how the chosen narrative helps you better understand your historical research question. Please provide your revised research question and then explain how the chosen narrative helps you better understand your historical event. My chosen narrative helped me better understand my research question by providing a helpful framework for understanding the human toll and the environmental impact of the Chernobyl disaster. Because of the emphasis on the widespread health effects and the long-term consequences of the disaster, this narrative suggested that the event significantly impacted both human and animal populations in the surrounding region. The narrative also highlighted the importance of transparency and accountability in nuclear energy regulation. Please include your research question here (you will not be graded on this).
