Module 6 Short Responses – Question 2 What events or historical forces contributed to the Boston busing crisis of the mid- 1970s? Name at least three, and briefly explain why you think each one was a contributory cause of the Boston busing crisis. 1. This act out outlawed segregation in the schools as well as restrict funding if they didn’t disaggregate. 2. right now the African-American community protested the quality of public schools in black neighborhoods in the early 1960s. The community shed light on the issues of the environment of schools at the time which opened investigations on the issue. 3. Module 6 Short Responses – Question 4 Describe one cause of the event you have chosen for your historical analysis (keeping in mind that there are many), and explain one piece of evidence from your research that you will use to support this assertion. Describe one consequence of the event, and explain one piece of evidence from your research that you will use to support this assertion. One major event I have chosen from my historical analysis, was the busing system in Boston public schools during the time of segregation. This had many positive impacts as well as negative impacts. One consequence of this event was that Black people felt unsafe going to public schools. There were many times where they would have to duck for safety on the bus ride to school, and they feared for their life.
