Introduction
Getting an interview for a perspective job brings about a mix of emotions that range from
excitement to trepidation and all that lies between. The best advice I ever got about interviewing
is to practice answering questions in the mirror and to familiarize yourself with the company
before your interview. I will be demonstrating how to answer a few questions that interviewers
like to ask.
"How would you handle a difficult situation?"
One situation that comes to mind is when a co-worker was violating the company wide
policy for using facial recognition when signing into their computer. The bosses had sent down
an order to initiate Multi-Factor Authorization for our systems to enhance security. I tried to
explain to my co-worker the importance of using MFA and even showed them that all you had to
do was focus your face into the computer camera. My co-worker still resisted, so I talked to my
manager and together we were able to explain the security threats that we are subsiding by using
MFA. In the end my co-worker set up the MFA mechanism and the situation was handled.
“What role do you play within a team?
Throughout my experience working I have played every role imaginable ranging from
dishwasher to general manager. The important thing to remember is that every role is pivotal to
the overall outcome. If one person on the team is lacking the rest of the team cannot work at
maximum efficiency. I say all that to say that I can play any role that is required of me and
what’s more is that I can thrive in any role.
"Tell me about how you developed the technology-based skills listed in your résumé?”
My technology-based skills were learned in a variety of ways but mostly from my summer
job working with my uncle in his mobile computer repair business and from my educational
journey. I have had classes focused on programming languages including Python, C#, and C++. I
have also built IoT devices which have combined Machine Learning programming with
engineering techniques. Finally, I have also created an AI program that could take input of
complex mathematics equations and output the answer.
