: Gallup report indicates that samples were selected randomly and that they were nationally representative. However, some countries were not included in the survey. Surveys were conducted over the telephone. Researchers may have missed individuals who do not have access to a telephone or have limited or no internet access. What made me select this poll:
I chose this poll because of the significance of the topic and because it extends to countries all around the globe. Women’s health is the cornerstone of a healthy society. Therefore, it is important to create health indicators and track the health of women and identify areas that need improvement so that this can be addressed. Are the results surprising or do they confirm your thinking?
The results are not surprising we need to look at women's health and try to find solutions to improve the health of women particularly through preventative measures, which the poll found that globally preventative health care is weak. What impact, if any, could this poll have on public policy?
The polls shows that a majority of women are 76+ this has policy implications to prepare society to support older women in their communities. For
example, a policy for long-term services and supports is Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services.
With this polling information, countries can make decisions about the funding needs to plan for the increase of women who are aging so that more people can live and age in their communities without having to go to institutional settings such as nursing homes.
