1. List the steps necessary to avoid negative consequences of using NDT methods?
To evaluate materials and components without causing harm to them, non-destructive testing (NDT)
techniques are used. However, if NDT is not carried out correctly, there are still possible adverse effects that may happen. The following actions can be taken to prevent these detrimental effects:
Choose the best NDT technique: There are various NDT techniques available, and each has advantages and disadvantages. It is crucial to select the best approach for the application and material being investigated before beginning NDT. This guarantees that the technique is suitable for the kind of material and potential flaws.
Personnel must be trained and certified because NDT is a highly specialised and professional profession. Make sure that anyone performing NDT has had the necessary training and certification.
To guarantee that NDT is carried out consistently and accurately, standard processes need to
be followed. Everything from setting up the equipment to interpreting the data should be covered in the procedures.
Results should be captured and properly documented to ensure that they are appropriately tracked and reported. This documentation can be utilised to ensure timely problem resolution and for quality control purposes.
Review and update procedures on a regular basis: NDT procedures should be reviewed frequently to make sure they are current and follow the most recent industry best practises. Identifying any potential dangers and taking action to reduce them should be part of this review.
These strategies can help you avoid the drawbacks of adopting NDT techniques while still reaping the rewards of this potent technology.
2. List 5 are negative consequences may result from safety violation?
When NDT procedures are used improperly, the workers and inspection equipment could suffer serious negative effects. These are five possible outcomes of safety violations:
Injury or death: Failure to adhere to safety procedures can result in serious injuries or fatalities for NDT staff. NDT techniques frequently use dangerous tools or materials, and any safety violations might lead to mishaps.
Equipment damage: NDT equipment is frequently pricey and sensitive. Equipment damage may occur if safety procedures are not followed, necessitating expensive repairs or replacements.
