Summary of the Disaster:
7.8 Earthquake, caused by the San Andreas Fault line, lasted ~30 – 60 seconds causing catastrophic damage to the 18 square mile city, Berkley, California. The city is located within 10 miles from the Pacific Coastline. The quake resulted in 31 deaths for LPHG and nearly 50,000 for the city of Berkley. Half of the buildings in the city were destroyed. A rampant spread of the highly contagious H1Z-20 virus is a result of the quake aftermath and is still causing a rise in the number of casualties in the city. about the documents, including completeness.
The Disaster Recovery Plan consists of a Backup and Recovery
Policy, a Disaster Preparedness Plan, and a Business Impact Analysis. The Disaster Preparedness Plan is a plan on record about what needs to take place in the business after a disaster occurs. It lets inquirers know general information like who the primary and backup emergency contacts are along with their contact info. It tells who is to participate in emergency planning. The document reveals LPHG’s crisis management personnel and where the main/secondary processing site for information resources can be found. The DRP should hold a list of critical services information but is currently lacking the data. The Business Impact Analysis is a list of recovery steps to follow after a natural disaster strikes. LPHG’s document is blank. The Backup and Recovery Policy information about how/when the backups of data are filed and where they are located.
Post-Disaster Response Summary:
The Backup and Recovery Policy is helpful as it gives detailed information on what kind of Data is involved, what kind of storage type the data gets saved to, where the data sits on the storage type, and when the backup regularly happens. Due to the Disaster Preparedness Plan lacking important information such as the critical services part of the plan and the Business Impact Analysis being blank, the Disaster Recovery Plan will not
be able to aide in following out any post Disaster Recovery Plans
