Explain the security measure Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED). Provide a detail example of (CPTED). This is obviously not a novel concept; CPTED has served architects, developers, and security guards well for decades. An approach to reducing criminal activity and the fear it inspires in a given area is known as Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) (The International CPTED Association (ICA) - Primer on CPTED - What Is CPTED?, n.d.).A community or institution may reduce the possibility of criminal conduct by making greater use of its natural environment in combination with other security measures. This is the premise of Central Park Environmental Design (CPTED). The CPTED four pillars Natural monitoring may be achieved in a variety of ways. By adding windows, lighting, and clearing away any obstructions, better sight lines may be established. It is feasible to direct pedestrian and vehicular traffic to specific locations using natural access control measures such as strategically placed gates, fences, landscaping, and lighting. Fencing, strategically placed signage, and clearly dividing public and private areas are all examples of physical obstacles that may be used to bolster a region. When it comes to managing and maintaining one's property, taking pleasure in it is simple. Maintaining a well-lit environment, cutting down trees on a regular basis, and cleaning up any mess Let me give you an example of reinforced street furniture that was used to surround older government buildings before stricter security measures were put in place. Since most of the nation's capital's federal buildings are somewhat old—some are more than a century old—and modern security needs are drastically different, I opted for this alternative. Take this piece of worn street furniture as an example: In the event of an accident, this robust obstacle may serve as a seat for pedestrians in addition to delineating space. This CPTED method does not reduce the fundamental scenic value of the location. Reinforced planters are widely used in the nation's capital due to their dual purpose of serving as a border and security barrier while also harmonizing with their natural environment.
