5-2 Final Project Milestone Three Rohan Intwala The Project Management framework can be used in multiple ways. The phrase "project management" is used to describe and pinpoint the essential elements required to oversee a project and guarantee its success. The project's fundamental components determine how team members, stakeholders, and the project manager will behave. To guarantee that the end user is happy, and that the delivery is what was intended, the project's structure is very crucial. The project planning process and the structure are crucial for well-organized projects to succeed. As per Wrink, “A project management framework consists of the processes, tasks, and tools used to take a project from start to finish. It encompasses all the key components required for planning, managing, and governing projects.” There are three fundamental components to make up project management. The first element is the project lifecycle. The steps of inception, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling, and closing make up the project life cycle. The second part is the monitoring and controlling phase. This is the main emphasis of the project control cycle. The third component of the project includes tools and templates to use data to increase efficiency and effectiveness. “When it comes to choosing a project management framework, project managers have various options. While some frameworks originated for general project management purposes, others were designed for specific use cases -- such as in software development, IT governance structure or business process improvement (Chai 2020).” APM methodology involves meeting customer needs, embracing change, delivering frequently, working with end users, working with stakeholders, face-to-face time, measuring progress consistently, sustainable development, continuous attention, keeping it simple, organizing teams, and effectiveness reflections. As per Wrike, there are six most common framework PM can choose from. Here are the six frameworks: PRINCE2, CCPM, Lean, XPM, Scrum, and Waterfall. Any one of these 2

The Waterfall method is the most favorable to Scrum due to its planned structure and flexibility, while Scrum requires modifications that may lead to delays. For the Combat Identification Sever (CIds) Technology Demonstration Project (TDP), General Dynamics selected the Dynamic System Development Method (DSDM). This framework is a hybrid of the agile and waterfall methodologies. As per Agile Business Consortium, “DSDM is an Agile method that focuses on the full project lifecycle, DSDM (formally known as Dynamic System Development Method) was created in 1994, after project managers using RAD (Rapid Application Development) sought more governance and discipline to this new iterative way of working.” The advantages of DSDM include prompt delivery, simple end-user access, and on-time completions. With the hybrid method, a project might be organized while yet having some flexibility. The team's ability to concentrate on the project's requirements and objectives led to the project's success. DSDM is not the only method General Dynamics should try. Scrumban would have been an asset to the project's success. As per ProductPlan, “The Scrumban framework merges the structure and predictable routines of Scrum with Kanban’s flexibility to make teams more agile, efficient, and productive.” Scrumban is a hybrid of Scrum and Kanban to make projects more efficient and meet customers' needs. 3
