What are the different law-enforcement agencies at different levels? The different Law-
Enforcement Agencies at different levels are:
Federal: From FBI to the U.S Secret Service.
Local: City police and Sheriffs.
State: State Police and Highway Patrol.
What are the jurisdictions of different levels
of law enforcement?
Law Enforcement has different jurisdictions and each one has different levels. For example: when a
crime is committed where there is no
local police departments assigned other agencies such as the State Level Patrol is the one that investigates, when a crime has been committed within the county Local Police Department take care of it. Federal Agencies have national jurisdiction but can’t get involve in state or local crimes unless Federal Laws have been broken the U.S Constitution has been violated.
How do law-enforcement officers apply discretion?
Discretion to start is the freedom of choice that officers have. Law Enforcement Officers are properly trained before performing their day-
to-day duties and are given the discretion to handle situations that can involve them in arrests or simply
stop a person for speeding and they can use discretion to help them take decision to whether or not is The Court System

The U.S has or consists in two different court systems, a National System and a State System (Peak & Madensen,2018).
What are the jurisdictions of the different court systems in the United States? The jurisdictions of courts an vary
depending on the offense. The District
courts or Federal trial courts are the ones
where Federal cases are trial, witnesses can
give their testimony and juries serve Cases
decided in District courts can be appealed
to The court of Appeals and they can
determine if the laws were applied correctly
in the district court.
How might a case progress through the courts? Include different possibilities—
for example, plea bargain, adjudication, appeals. The progress of a case through courts can be described a little like this:
Once the offender is charged with a
crime they have to go to a district court
to have their trial, if the offender wants
to appeal then after the offender has
pronounce guilty or innocent can request
a review of the case in the U.S court of
Appeals to determine if the laws were
applied properly.
The Corrections System
How do different operating methods of corrections systems
in the United States function? Address the following operating methods:

Public vs. private: Public Prisons are operated and own by the state and or the Federal government and are put under control of government officials while Private prisons are owned and operated by private companies that have contracts with the government to house prisoners.

Local, state, federal For the State and Federal prisons the only difference is who owns them. State prisons are usually manage by the state while Federal prisons are manage by the government. Local prisons are just created to house prisoners for
a short amount of time and is under charge of the county’s sheriff department.
What are the jurisdictions of the different corrections systems in the United States? State prisons house convicts that committed a crime within the state. Federal prison on the other hand hold convicts of Federal crimes and Local jails hold offenders that committed a crime within the city or county.
How can professionals in corrections apply discretion? Once offenders have been sentence the professionals in correction apply discretion in jails and prisons to coordinate the supervision of offenders that was ordered from the court.
Components of the Criminal Justice System
[Explain how the components of the criminal justice system function together. Answer the
following question: How do the components fit together chronologically? Criminal Justice System
is formed by Law Enforcement, courts and corrections. The main purpose of law enforcement is to
make sure that law is being enforced, citizens are being protect and crimes are being prevented.
Courts are in charge of making sure that offenders are receiving a fair trail and sentence.
Corrections in the other hand helps offenders to rehabilitate so they can be accepted in society
again and stop violating the law and what they all have in common is to reduce crime and keep the
community safe.
Technology and the Criminal Justice System
[Explain how the three components of the criminal justice system use technology to promote transparency with the public.]
Technology has been of big help in Criminal Justice System by helping with the GPS, security cameras, fingerprints, gunshot technology, license plate scanning, etc. As we know technology has become a big part of our society now days for either negative or positive reasons and thanks to that data can be track and retrieved from many services in a short period of time with the help of the internet and other portable devices.
