(WA #3) Assignment Outline / Instructions The following link includes a fictional short film titled “Stuck”. *Note the content is fake, however, very graphic in the video Horror Short Film "STUCK" | ALTER - YouTube In order to obtain a better understanding of Actus Reus, Mens Rea, and Concurrence we will be utilizing the video link attached above to gain a better perspective of these concepts of law which are outlined in Chapter #4 beginning on page 116 of your textbook. (I have also attached the slide from your notes outlining Actus Reus / Mens Rea / Concurrence following this slide) Assignment: You are to submit a (1) page minimum / (2) page maximum length paper that answers the following questions as they pertain to Actus Reus / Mens Rea / Concurrence. Submit a short paragraph answering each of the below listed questions individually. Each question is worth (5) points. Total possible points for the assignment: (25). Provide an Introduction outline what occurred in the short film you have reviewed. Actus Reus Q1) A necessary feature of any crime is some act in violation of a law. In your own words, explain what you feel is the violation of law that occurred. (I am not looking for a statutory definition, just a reasonable explanation of your view on what crime occurred) Q2) A person must commit the act voluntarily for it to be considered a crime. Do you feel the acts committed were voluntary? If so, why? If not, why? Mens Rea Q3) Mens Rea refers to the person’s state of mind when committing the act, of which there are (4) types. Which of the (4) types of sta te of mind defined under Mens Rea, do you feel is applicable in this case and why? Q4) Explain how concurrence would be established in this act? Q5) Provide your personal thoughts how you would feel if this was an actual crime that had occurred.
