Open the file in Praat. Select “Play.” What word do you hear? Did you have any difficulty understanding the word? 5. The word in “missing.wav” has a phoneme missing and replaced with a cough. Play the file again. Can you identify which phoneme is missing? Do you have any difficulty doing this? 6. What cognitive skill allows you to easily identify the word in “missing.wav” despite that it is missing a phoneme? 7. Select “View & Edit” to look at “missing.wav.” Confirm which phoneme is missing. The cough will look like a loud voiceless fricative. 8. Record yourself producing the same word then “View & Edit” your production.
