Select
one
theoretical perspective to explain second language acquisition throughout paper. A
theoretical perspective is like a lens, through which you examine the child’s language acquisition
process.
You may select any but be able to cite sources for your theory.
Chomsky’s Nativist
theory; Piaget’s Developmental Theory; Vygotsky’s Socio-Cultural Theory; Bronfenbrenner’s
Bio-ecological Theory.
You must
also explain and apply Cummin’s Interdependence Hypothesis to analyze and explain
Simultaneous/Sequential language acquisition
Discuss and Utilize findings from 3 to 5 Research articles and resources to support discussion and
description of
terms and concepts. Students may use articles posted in CANVAS Course 4930.
Utilize the Case Study Child Speech Collection to illustrate Key Concepts and apply key
concepts.
Students who completed Assignment 1 with a partner may work with that partner on Assignment
2.

terminology and the child’s progress in language acquisition.

experiencing attrition”, then you must use research and the utterances to demonstrate or
describe Attrition.
