What is your opinion on this topic?
We can critically draw on some experts’ opinions in the
process of learning a language and choose to accept some advice that suits our own actual situation
How do your ways of studying a language compare with those of the experts?
I believe
that it is needed is for students to read and listen to lots of language; Teachers should correct students
when they make errors; The memorization of vocabulary is beneficial.
Do you prefer your teacher to correct you when you make a mistake? Why or why not?
I think corrective feedback from teachers can be highly beneficial for language learners as me. It helps
us to notice the gap between their current language use and the standard language forms. This can
guide learners to self-correct and gradually internalize the correct language patterns.
Should students ever be forced to produce language? Why or why not?
Being forced to
produce language can be stressful for learners and may not always be beneficial. However, practice in
producing language is necessary. It is generally better to create an environment where learners feel
safe and encouraged to use the language rather than one where they feel forced.
What is the best way to learn vocabulary? Why?
Learning vocabulary is most effective when
words are learned in context. This helps learners understand not just the meaning but also the usage
of words.
Are there any other ways that you have found beneficial in your own learning experience?
What are they?
I think that communicating directly with native speakers of a language is the most
effective way to improve language skills after initially mastering the language.
