Hello class,
Total quality management is defined as a process that detects and reduces or eliminates errors in manufacturing, streamlining supply chain management, improving the customer experience, and ensuring that employees are up to speed with training (Barone, 2023). As for customer needs, it can be as simple as filling out a survey to reveal insufficient durability of goods. Steps like this will help a company understand the
need or requirement for manufacturing process. The next thing would be for employees. During this step, it is important that it is communicated to the leaders of each department the goals, expectations, and needs that are in place or need to be in place. The way to share this information is by using the
TQM Diagram. “
The diagram usually shows different processes or steps, allowing for management to see a process, analyze weaknesses or risks in the flow, and strategically adjust how things are done.” (Barone, 2023). With this in place, a company
will be able to reduce attrition and maintain knowledgeable workers on board. Reference: Barone, A. (2023). What Is Total Quality Management (TQM), and Why Is It Important? Investopedia

This way everyone can keep their focus on improving the organization’s outputs by improving internal practices. Practices and standards can be modified as well for improvements overall. “
Industry standards can be defined at multiple levels and may include adherence to various laws and regulations governing the operation of a particular business.” (Barone, 2023). Reference: Barone, A. (2023). What Is Total Quality Management (TQM), and Why Is It Important? Investopedia
