Academic engagement through active participation in instructional activities related to the course objectives is paramount to your success in this course and future courses. Through interaction with your instructor and classmates, you will explore the course material and be provided with the best opportunity for objective and competency mastery. To begin this class, review the course objectives for each Topic, and then answer the following questions as this will help
guide your instructor for course instruction.
1.
Which weekly objectives do you have prior knowledge of and to what extent?
2.
Which weekly objectives do you have no prior knowledge of?
3.
What course-related topics would you like to discuss with your instructor and classmates?
What questions or concerns do you have about this course?
Weekly objectives
After reviewing the syllabus for this course, each topic has objectives listed that I have prior knowledge of. Objectives such as conducting a SWOT analysis, financial ratios and analysis, EPS/EBIT analysis, creating IFE and EFE matrices and organizational charts are areas in which I
have previous knowledge, mainly within the classroom setting. Areas that I do not have previous knowledge are creating matrices for BCG, IE, Grand Strategy, QSPM, and perceptual maps. With that being said, it is likely that I may have reviewed those matrices at some point and will now have the opportunity to dive into the concepts on a deeper level. There are no specified course related topics that I am more interested in discussing over the others.
The opportunity to study within the online forum allows for all students to learn and grow from each other so reading and discussing all topics throughout this course will be helpful. Working among a CLC group is often very helpful as well because each member has the opportunity to contribute insight and facilitate understanding for another. Currently, no immediate concerns or any questions about this course exist.

“The Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) is a methodology for managing training programs. It is an orderly; logical approach to determining what people must know and do at a particular job or in a specific profession” (Dhawan, 2018, p.1). This approach is focusing on core objectives and “end in mind” to ensure that employees can master the main takeaways upon completion of the training in order to function properly.
Pros to systematic training:
“Organized Approach
Clarity and Responsibility
Recognizing the Student’s Abilities
Hands-On Design” (Katchi, 2015, para.8).
Some of the cons of systematic approaches are lack of adaptability, flexibility within the process, being able to change the structure on a moment’s notice or exercise innovative approaches to training.
Please provide examples of systematic or any other training methods that are currently in place within your organization and analyze its pros and cons.
