Greetings Class,
The research question I chose is: What in-game activity will most likely lead to winning in the National Football League? I chose this topic because I am very much interested in sports, particularly the NFL and thought it would be cool to gather some data on the subject to find out what really leads to winning. Decision analysis principles can be applied to determining what in-
game actions lead to winning in the National Football League (NFL) by following a systematic approach:
1.
Define the Problem: Clearly identify the research question or problem to be addressed. In
this case, the objective is to determine which in-game actions contribute to winning in the
NFL.
2.
Identify Relevant Variables: List and collect data on various in-game actions that can impact the outcome of NFL games. These variables could include offensive and defensive
statistics, turnovers, penalties, time of possession, field position, etc.
3.
Data Collection: Gather historical data on NFL games, including detailed stats and game outcomes for multiple seasons. This data should cover a wide range of teams and situations.
4.
Data Analysis: Analyze the collected data using statistical techniques and decision analysis tools to identify relationships and patterns between different in-game actions and
winning outcomes. Techniques such as regression analysis, correlation analysis, and data mining can be used to uncover meaningful insights.
5.
Model Development: Build a decision model that incorporates the identified variables and their relationships with winning outcomes. This model should be flexible enough to
adapt to different scenarios and should consider various factors that could influence game
results.
6.
Sensitivity Analysis: Conduct sensitivity analysis to understand the relative importance of
different in-game actions on winning outcomes. This helps in identifying the key drivers of success and prioritizing actions that have the most significant impact on winning.
7.
Decision Making and Evaluation: Use the developed decision model to evaluate different strategies and game plans based on the identified in-game actions. This allows teams and coaches to make data-driven decisions to optimize their chances of winning.
By applying these decision analysis principles, teams and coaches can gain valuable insights into
which specific in-game actions are most closely associated with winning in the NFL. This can inform strategy development, gameplay adjustments, and overall performance improvement.

Implementation of a company’s strategic plan often begins by determining management’s basic expectations about future economic, competitive, and technological conditions, and their effects on anticipated goals, both long-term and short-term. Many firms at this stage conduct a situational analysis that involves examining their strengths and weaknesses and the external opportunities available and the threats that they might face from competitors.
After performing the situational analysis, the organization identifies potential strategies that could enable achievement of its goals. Part of this process involves business managers creating budgets to plan for future operations, create benchmarks to measure progress, and maintain necessary accounting controls.
The majority of literature that has used examples to describe a master budget have been limited to manufacturing companies. These companies tend to have comprehensive operating budgets and therefore serve as a good starting point in…

Incidence of smoking in movies has started to increase again, after having declined for several decades. According to the National Cancer Institute, smoking is seen in at least three out of four contemporary box-office hits. What’s more, identifiable cigarette brands appeared in about one-third of all movies in 2008. Exposure to smoking in movies is an important predictor of adolescent smoking initiation: smoking in movies has been shown to affect adolescents’ intentions to start smoking. In turn, the intentions to start smoking are determined by a more positive attitudetoward smoking after seeing a film character smoke. Recent research has revealed that the relationship between seeing a film character smoke and the attitude toward smoking is stronger when a person’s identification with a film character increases. These findings are consistent with social learning…
