Recruiting can be a tall task especially with the reservations young people have about joining. As the lead recruiter I have seen that many new team members have struggled to overcome the obstacle of persuading young prospects to overcome those reservations. To address
this we will applying Cialdini’s principles of persuasion.
The First Principle we will be going over is Reciprocity. According to the reading reciprocity is the idea that people are more likely to respond positively when they receive something in return (Rodgers, Weiss 2015). Recruiters can offer prospects information about benefits and bonuses they can receive from the military. By providing this information recruits may respond positively to this and be more inclined to join.
The next principle to discuss is social proof. Social proof suggests that people tend to follow the actions of others, especially when they are uncertain about a decision (Rodgers, Weiss
2015). Recruiters can utilize this by sharing their personal experiences and what motivated them to join. Along with sharing the success of other recruits that have joined, hearing these testimonies may help them overcome their reservations.
The final principle to discuss Cialdini’s principle is authority. “We defer to experts. Whether you’re a scientist, a medical doctor, a Ph.D., or a professor, if you have a level of expertise—and your target is aware of that expertise—you automatically become more persuasive” (Rodgers, Weiss 2015). Our recruiting team can establish themselves as knowledgeable and trustworthy they will be perceived as experts in the field of the military. By showcasing this by sharing past accomplishments they can instill confidence in prospects in there potential choice.
2
In conclusion by addressing the recruiting challenge our team has been dealing with while working with young individuals who have reservations about joining the military it’s detrimentally that the team applies the afore mentioned principles new recruiters can overcome the objections and obstacles of potential candidates to help them make a informed decision about
military service. This Approach will not only be beneficial to our recruiting team but the strength
of the military for the future.

These strategies should result in a more diverse workforce, one that encourages the hiring and retention of those with different backgrounds, perspectives, opinions, etc. Note: Accomplishing this objective is broader than the human resources department broadening its hiring practices; instead, strategies must be identified to engage employees to promote a more diverse workplace throughout the community.

Many recruitment strategies depend heavily upon internet and social media sources, but, for many situations, non-web-based methods continue to play an important role. For this discussion, research current recruiting methods and then analyze recruiting best practices. From your findings, compare and contrast at least two types of online sources with two types of non-web-based sources (career fairs, networking, etc.).
As a part of your comparisons, consider the following for each method:
Cost: What are the financial costs to the company? Which methods are most cost effective?
Timeliness: How much time is required to find a candidate?
Effectiveness: For the time and costs spent, which methods will produce the best candidates? Some methods will generate a large number of applicants, but it is only helpful if the applicants are actually qualified for the position.
