Good evening, Mr. Morrison, my name is Anthony Quintana, and I am a current employee at the
Salad and Go located in Scottsdale, AZ. I know you are the C.E.O. of the company and have a lot of daily tasks to worry about so allow me to quickly summarize my proposed plan for the organizational culture issues that have been raised by my co-workers and me. Firstly, we would like to have a mandatory meeting of everybody currently employed at the store as soon as possible on an early morning weekend at the main offices in Tempe, AZ. We kindly request that an H.R. representative be present to help mediate the meeting. The lower-level employees will let the team leaders know about how unfairly they have been treated by not being listened to, degraded, and overworked. After that, the team leaders will be able to say their pieces and reasoning as to why they thought treating us this way was acceptable. Following this, the H.R. representative will be asked to read out a list provided by us containing all the behavioral changes that need to be implemented. The changes in this include practicing more mindful listening, respecting boundaries, supporting upward communication, and practicing self-
monitoring. Then we will all collectively work towards a common goal where the work environment is no longer toxic. After the mandatory meeting concludes, the work is not over, because we know how easy it is to fall ball into our old ways. That is why there will be weekly store meetings to discuss our progress and what can we change. To help these weekly meetings be efficient and effective, we will have a box made for employees to submit constructive criticism and compliments. These submissions will help everybody know what is working and what is not. By holding ourselves accountable for our own mistakes, all of us believe that we can achieve a healthy organizational culture. This process will be difficult, but we all feel very confident that it is our only option for making positive change.
