In my discussion post, I discussed aspects around the running and diversity practices in my current job. I would not say that my views on my organization have changed; although the company is not perfect they have helped me, along with many other staff members excel and grow as positions in the company became available. As with any company, there is always room to improve current practices and better the company as a whole.
Organizational Theory “studies organizations to identify the patterns and structures they use to solve problems, maximize efficiency and productivity and meet stakeholder’s expectations” (Boundless, n/d). There are various organizational theories including classical, neo-classical, decision making, and systems approach theories. Each organizational theory produces beneficial outcomes.
Neo-classical organizational theory “modified, added and extended the classical theories by realizing the fact that management exists in a social system wherein human factors have cognizant roles to perform” (Francis, 2014). While the classical theory looks at employees as being a counterpart to machines and the output or performance of those roles, neo-classical takes into consideration the people performing those roles. The benefits of implementing this approach
would be employee satisfaction and effective communication.
Employee satisfaction is important to running a successful business. When employees are
satisfied and feel that the company appreciates them; they work hard for the company. Factors of
employee satisfaction go beyond proper pay rates for employees. Benefits that a neo-classical approach provides employees would be positive reinforcement, open communication, healthy workplace relationships, and motivation to work harder and learn more. “This approach results in
focusing on employee satisfaction by motivating them and focusing on collaborations between

workers and management” (Hamdan, 2018). This improved relationship can allow management to know the goals, experience, and work quality of their employees. This knowledge can be used to consider whether employees would be a good fit for promotion and/or to give additional training/education to qualify employees that embrace company goals for higher positions when available.
The neo-classical organizational theory promotes effective communication. Communication across any business is an essential element. Owners/CEOs need to communicate
to managers, who need to communicate to employees that need to communicate to the customers
and customers have the opportunity to communicate to anyone with their experience both in-
person and online. Communication keeps everyone on the same page. “Communication is an important yardstick to measure the efficiency of the information being transmitted from and to different levels of the organization” (June, 2016). Through effective communication, employees will know what employers expect of them and what to expect of the employer.
In addition to organizational theories correlating with employee experience with a company, internal and external factors directly affect the experience with the company. “Internal factors are those within the company’s direct control, such as policies, workflows, and office culture” (Fredman, 2017). An internal suggestion that I would make to companies, including the company I mentioned in the discussion would be to ensure that all employees are following policies set out by the company. Policies cannot only be applied to certain people and not to all and consistency sometimes can be a problem in companies. This inconsistent dictation of policies can make good staff want to leave because difficult staffs are not dealt with properly.

That wasn't going to be easy. He was the oldest of four children, and his mom was raising them by herself. Tyrell took all the science and math classes available and read every book in every library he could access, besides using the computers at school to print articles off to bring home. Affording college seemed an unlikely hope, though.
