How and why the job announcement reflects the themes and specific readings from Week 1 and Week 2.
The focus of concentration for the group has been centered around the integration of knowledge acquired throughout the first and second weeks. The lesson resources for Week 1 emphasized the evolution of leadership, shifting from a previous emphasis on fostering employee
development and maximizing workforce performance through leadership (UMGC, n.d.). The significance of creating strong relationships with stakeholders, consumers, and employees has been highlighted in the contemporary corporate setting. An effective leader possesses leadership traits such as accountability, adaptability, and creativity, along with people management skills, empathy, and interpersonal relationship skills (Indeed, 2023, “Key takeaways,” para.1). The above job announcement focuses on leadership traits that LSN values and align with the company’s mission and four core values. Customer-centricity, the first of LSN four core values, focuses on creating positive customer experiences by enhancing effective relationships. The above job announcement requires applicants to have experience in building positive relationships with customers while maintaining confidentiality. The leadership traits required will give LSN a team member dedicated to the company who places a premium on speed, flexibility, and the ability to lead in uncertain situations (Stockton, et al., 2014, para.2). By setting a vision and strategy for the team, LSN leaders will demonstrate their skills in innovation. The job announcement seeks candidates with the ability to bring their team together, as a cohesive unit, to work in unison to develop new ideas, express their creativity, and inspire collaboration. Encouraging autonomy, employees will become empowered and inspired by LSN leadership and express excitement to develop new ideas and approaches
(UMGC, n.d., “Leading,” fig.1). Leadership has shifted towards a more collaborative approach, focusing on greater teamwork and fostering an environment of increased productivity, innovation, and creativity. While aligning staff with LSN’s four core values, leaders who demonstrate innovative qualities, will be able to ensure short and long-term goals
are met. People are not born leaders; great leaders are made – through teaching and observation (Malo, n.d., p. 417, 5. Behavioral Theories). Through continuing education, leaders can gain knowledge needed to stay well-informed and up-to-date on the company, the industry, and technical matters. The above job announcement reflects the importance LSN places on knowledgeable leaders through its ideal candidate’s ability to prove an educational history or his or her enhancement of business skills with their determination, drive, and commitment to lifelong learning. Effective leaders gather in-depth knowledge of not only the organization, but the industry, which will allow them to make educated decisions, solve problems quickly and understand the implications of their decisions, and initiate and foster change (Kirkpatrick & Locke, 1991, p. 56, para. 2). The job announcement prioritizes learning and training and encourages it applicants to maintain a mentally active desire and determination for self-
improvement through new learning opportunities. The job announcement includes requirements that coincide with LSN’s fourth core value, sustainability. The job announcement seeks the ideal candidate who demonstrates the ability to understand ethics and exhibit integrity. With operations currently in several countries and the desire to expand to Saudi Arabia in the next year, it is vital that LSN leaders are competent in global leadership competencies. In addition to an ability to manage globally diverse and diffused teams, effective leaders must demonstrate flexibility, open-mindedness,
cultural interest and sensitivity, and maintain a resilient, resourceful, optimistic, and energetic personality (SHRM, 2008, “Global Executive Competencies,” fig.2). Sustainability competency will allow LSN to develop well-balanced relationships with customers, vendors, and stockholders. Through diversity and inclusion, global cultural agility will easily be attained and provide competitive advantage (Stockton, et al., 2014, “Developing 21
st
Century Leadership Skills,” para. 3). The group concluded, regarding the leadership attributes that were analyzed in the second
week of reading, to produce a job advertisement that attracts a suitable leader capable of effectively managing a wide variety of responsibilities. When determining the essential competencies required for the candidates, the section evaluated a diverse range of course content.
The reasoning for the choice of language used in the job announcement. Be specific.
The language used in each group members memorandums submitted in Weeks 1 and 2 served as the basis for the job announcement. Today, leaders inspire, motivate, encourage, and enable those under and around them (Gandolfi & Stone, 2017, p.20). Transformational leaders prioritize both the collective success of the team and the achievement of its objectives, with a focus on the growth and advancement of each team member. Transformational leadership encourages and promotes a culture focused on the four core values of LSN: customer-centricity, innovation, knowledge, and sustainability. The language used in the job announcement motivates
candidates to apply and promotes a collaborative work culture. Transformational leadership combined with the job announcement language fosters the six activities in which implementation
of a vision is needed: structuring, selecting and training, motivating, managing information, team
building, and promoting change and innovation (Kirkpatrick & Locke, 1991, “The Rest of the

Explain how the assessment could be used to inform instruction based on the below passage.
The teacher is teaching art to a diverse group of 5th-grade students. The teacher's goal is for students to critique a work of art and understand its historical significance. The teacher uses a variety of teaching strategies and tools, including cooperative learning, active learning techniques, and technology. One formative assessment method that the teacher could use is the 'Think-Pair-Share' strategy. This strategy involves students thinking individually about a question or problem, discussing their thoughts with a partner, and then sharing their ideas with the class. This strategy can be used to assess students' understanding of the art critique process and their ability to analyze and interpret art. The 'Think-Pair-Share' strategy can provide the teacher with immediate feedback on students' understanding and skills. If students struggle to articulate their thoughts during the 'pair' stage,…

To address and anticipate performance problems, managers must find information that will allow them to understand whether the source of the problem is abilities and other traits, knowledge and skills, contextual issues, or some combination of these three factors. Once a manager has discovered the root of the performance problem, then he can formulate an appropriate method to resolve the issue. Managers should always address performance issues with employees in a professional and polite manner and take the time to listen to the feedback from the employee to ensure they fully understand why the employee is having the issue. Performance problems can be caused by numerous stressors that may have nothing to do with the organization but are affecting how an employee is performing their job. Everyone responds to stress and situations differently and management should try to work with employees that may be struggling to get them back on track quickly.
