Workplace Standards and Guidelines
One effective process that supervisors can use in maintaining workplace standards and
guidelines is to provide their employees with compliant safety training. The safety training must
be comprehensible to their employees in language and vocabulary (Occupational Safety and
Health Administration [OSHA], n.d). Supervisors can achieve this by providing their employees
with handbooks or manuals that they can refer to. Another process that supervisors can use to
maintain workplace standards and guidelines is to establish or update any safety procedures.
Supervisors can do this by making sure to communicate this with their employees so that they
can follow the most up-to-date regulations in the workplace.
Productivity and Improvement
Supervisors can promote productivity improvement for their staff members by
developing and implementing a training program. Supervisors can utilize training programs first,
by establishing their goals for their departments, then figuring out how each employee can play a
part in this goal. Supervisors should recognize each employee in their department and
acknowledge their goals, skills, and ambitions. Supervisors that understand their employees’
goals can set higher standards by updating and enhancing their training programs according to
each employee. Setting higher standards can give employees a chance to challenge themselves,
which can improve their productivity since they aim to accomplish their goals. Another way that
supervisors can promote productivity improvement for their staff is by implementing
performance-based salaries. This type of pay is based on how much an employee can contribute
to the company. Employees are more motivated to work at their best performance when they are
3
seen and paid for their efforts. This will then improve productivity in the department and help
employees aim for their goals.
Team Building
A supervisor can foster team building by encouraging their employees to use
brainstorming collaboratively. When a supervisor strives for a workplace to work together as a
team, collaborative brainstorming can make employees feel that they are working together to
achieve something meaningful. The supervisor can encourage each employee to join in and
exercise this by allowing each employee to contribute ideas that they think would benefit the
team or goal. When every team member can express and offer their ideas together, it adds value
to the team and makes the team feel like they are working together by hearing each other’s goals
and values.
Professional Development Program for HIM Employees
To create a professional development program, the first step would be to plan and
understand the expectations and opportunities that the employees are seeking for their career
goals. To ensure that each employee has a successful plan in the program, they should first
complete a self-assessment. The self-assessment can help the supervisor understand what
interests the employee in career development and opportunities. It can also evaluate if those
interests benefit the company overall. As a supervisor, the next step is to assess the employee’s
self-assessment and determine what skill level the employee is at. For example, assessing the
employee’s technical and social skills are at. The next step is for the supervisor to assess the
department and organization’s needs, and how the employee would fit into or align themselves
with the organization’s needs and values (Duke University, n.d). The supervisor should keep in
mind what the department, team, and employee’s goals are all together. Lastly, the supervisor

Explain how effectively in the below passage, the teacher designed the learning environment to support classroom management and student engagement in the lesson.
I teach in a 2nd grade "sheltered" English classroom where all my students are English Language Learners (ELLs). All my students come from Hispanic backgrounds and speak Spanish as their 1st language. This lesson on facilitating small group interactions is a math review on solving extended response word problems. I have been modeling how to solve one math word problem daily and explaining the process and strategy used in a "T" chart. I am releasing this responsibility onto my students to solve these problems in small groups. Each word problem reviews a concept we have already learned this year, including patterns and skip counting, addition and subtraction with regrouping, and an organized list for multiplication patterns. My content objective is for my students to use one of the strategies we have learned to solve a word…
