Unit 1 Discussion: Topic Part A:   Your Motto My Motto “A smile a day keeps the depression away” This may sound a little strange to some and maybe even “depressing” however it has a deep meaning to me. I have battled with mental health issues (and still do) but the thing that I’ve learned through it is that even the worst day can be just a little easier with a smile. When you walk past someone, and you just give them a quick smile you can see something change in their eyes and their spirits lift just a little. Anyone in my life who knows me will tell you that I love to make those around me smile with just little affirmations or jokes to brighten the mood. Just my opinion but I do not think that there is anything that cannot be overcome and when you can find just a little bit of joy through a smile it can spread like wildfire. Topic Part B: Your Marketing Mix The name of the product you are evaluating. Farberware 12” & 10” Non-Stick Skillets (2 pans) A total score and average of your marketing mix (Total score/4).  Total Score = 5 + 5 + 2 + 4 = 16 Average = 16 / 4 = 4 Good or service score Goods 5/5 Price of product and score $21.97 5/5 Promotion of product and score No Promotions 2/5 Place of product and score Walmart Store 4/5 Explain your result I have been needing new pans due to mine losing their nonstick quality. I decided to go to my local Walmart store to look around. The aisle for the pans was very easy to locate, I only provided a 4 out of 5 because I hate going to Walmart due to the always busy traffic. There were no sales on the pans I purchased, nor did they stick out in any way other than the price. Compared to some of the other options $21 for two pans was a great price which is why I decided to purchase them.
Unit 4 Discussion: There are many factors to consider when a business is looking to expand its business into another country. Some of the most important things to look at with this business being an educational software would be technology, social factors, and demographics. Technology is important due to the country needing to be able to access your software followed closely by social and demographics because you do not want to expand to a country that wouldn’t benefit from what you are offering, for example, a country that speaks 0% English would not have any luck getting your business off the ground. Singapore would be a great option for expansion firstly because they are consistently ranked in the top 10 for network capabilities along with the US. They have a dedication to IT infrastructure and with it being a growing field in that country they would benefit from software that teaches them the necessary skills to better their knowledge in this area. Another reason would be that their primary language is English so they would easily understand the program and be able to teach it to others. Another great option would be Israel , while their main language is Hebrew or Arabic there are also many English-speaking individuals. They have many opportunities to learn English and to grow in the language. Israel is also in the top 10 for most technologically literate populations and is rapidly climbing the list and even almost to our level here in the US. References: Lamb, C.
