Over the last 30 years, there has been a shift in the world economy that has altered and transformed the way we consume and produce goods and services globally. National economies that were self-contained entities, restricted by borders, government regulations, and cultures have
shifted to economies that have crossed borders by leveraging technology and transportation, becoming global economic systems (Hill, 2023). This shift has created both positive and negative impacts on companies. Companies can expand globally and take advantage of the benefits that can be gained from things such as lower costs for production and supporting resources that would contribute to a company’s profit (Nie, 2013). Some of the challenges that companies face when expanding their business globally are learning different cultures, government regulations, and increased competition from other companies (Nie, 2013).
China has experienced rapid economic growth in the past decades which created some negative side effects. Air pollution and traffic congestion have increased dramatically causing the need for the government to develop ways to minimize these negative impacts (Wang et al., 2023). North America has been able to leverage economies of scale and lower production costs by entering the global market. As more countries take advantage of the global economy, the impacts on global growth for leading countries like the United States and Great Britain are decreased. In 2021, the global growth for the United States decreased from 15.9% to 15.7% and the global growth for the United Kingdom decreased from 2.4% to 2.3% (Jakopin et al., 2023).

Members of some market-oriented and command economies seem to pity or look down upon people living in traditional systems. These individuals say that traditional cultures are backward, underprivileged, suffering, and living in the past. Armed with such beliefs, many “modern" societies dedicate themselves to introducing their lifestyles, technology, and economic systems to the more traditional groups. While some traditional economies embrace the opportunity to grow and "evolve," others do not. People in some traditional economic systems are not interested in changing. They are happy to live much as their past generations have lived, they enjoy being part of a very close-knit community, and they respect the traditions and beliefs of their ancestors.
Questions: 1. Should market and command governments encourage people in traditional economies to adopt their ways?
2. Do these traditional systems need help or does outside assistance do more harm than good for these societies?

Globalization refers to the interconnectedness and interdependence of economies, cultures, and societies worldwide, facilitated by advancements in technology, transportation, and communication. It has led to increased trade, investment, and the flow of goods, services, and ideas across borders, reshaping the global landscape. Globalization has brought both benefits and challenges. On one hand, it has fueled economic growth, lifted millions out of poverty, and enabled access to a diverse range of products and services. On the other hand, it has also contributed to income inequality, cultural homogenization, and environmental degradation. The rapid spread of information and ideas through digital platforms has transformed communication and fostered cross-cultural exchange, but it has also raised concerns about data privacy, misinformation, and cyber threats. As globalization continues to evolve, it presents opportunities for collaboration and innovation while also highlighting the need…
