1.
For your 1st key lesson, name a brand/product/service that is doing this well and
describe how?
One lesson I have learned about marketing is how often consumers will purchase
a product from a company using geographical locations to market their products. If a
certain product moves their manufacturing to another country, I expect both their quality
and reputation would eventually deteriorate. If this happens, their total sales will decrease
in the long term. “German engineering, it is a highly desirable aspect in the world of
luxury automobiles, and it implies a sophisticated degree of precision and technical
superiority. Germany, of course, has a special history with the automobile. Karl Benz
patented the first internal combustion engine there in 1879, and his first automobile in
1886.” (CBC Radio, 2015) Overall, I think Mercedes is a great brand who has marketed
themselves well. They are well known around the world but you will definitely be paying
for the brand. However, their quality and superior image they portray is worth the extra
money to certain consumers.
2.
For your 2nd key lesson, name a brand/product/service that is doing this well
and describe how?
Another key lesson I have learned about is using different online platforms to market
ideas and products.
YouTube is the second-largest search engine in the world after
Google. I think YouTube has delivered a service that allows many people to share
their lives, their ideas and their products with the world. “
YouTube videos are another
excellent way to build your brand in an authentic, genuine way. Similarly, one
YouTube video can be used and reused in many different ways, so it’s a great tool to
continue promoting your business.” (Evolve Global Marketing, 2022)
3.
For your 3rd key lesson, name a brand/product/service that is doing this well
and describe how?
Another key lesson I have learned is about how business market their TV services.
After CoVid hit in 2020, most of us were sitting at home a lot more. I found that
Netflix was very strategic when they started releasing entire seasons at a time rather
than episode by episode. “We believe the ability for our members to immerse
themselves in a story from start to finish increases their enjoyment but also their
likelihood to tell their friends, which then means more people watch, join, and stay
with Netflix.” (Webster, 2022). This has been an effective marketing strategy for
Netflix. I know many people who have cancelled their cable and only use Netflix
now because they offer the newest shows and movies as well. However, I do think
Netflix should be careful on their monthly fee. With the current economic state, if
they raise the price too much, they could potentially lose customers in the long run.
