3.1. Structural Interventions In this discussion question you will return to the MACP Skills Learning Lab and use the case study that you chose in Unit 1 for this discussion. Please address the following topics in the discussion post:
Describe the family's current structure in terms of the boundaries around the family system and among subsystems in the family.
Discuss what dysfunctional triangles may be present in the family and suggest what function the triangles play.
Examine possible structural changes the family could make that would help them improve their family dynamic. What are the possible structural changes that the family could make that would improve their current dynamics? What would be the rationale for such changes?
Discuss the structural techniques that should be used to accomplish the goals. How might you take cultural considerations into account in evaluating what, if any, structural changes might be beneficial to any specific couple/family?
The last post is due at the end of Sunday of this unit.

Question 2
You are a biomedical engineer working for a small orthopaedic firm that fabricates rectangular shaped fracture
fixation plates from titanium alloy (model = "Ti Fix-It") materials. A recent clinical report documents some problems with the plates
implanted into fractured limbs. Specifically, some plates have become permanently bent while patients are in rehab and doing partial
weight bearing activities.
Your boss asks you to review the technical report that was generated by the previous test engineer (whose job you now have!) and used to
verify the design. The brief report states the following... "Ti Fix-It plates were manufactured from Ti-6Al-4V (grade 5) and machined into
solid 150 mm long beams with a 4 mm thick and 15 mm wide cross section. Each Ti Fix-It plate was loaded in equilibrium in a 4-point bending
test (set-up configuration is provided in drawing below), with an applied load of 1000N. The maximum stress in this set-up was less than the
yield stress for the…

Group Problem: You are planning to build a log cabin in Northern Minnesota on a remote hill with a beautiful
view of the setting sun. You will drag the logs up a long sometimes rocky hill to the building site by means of a
rope attached to a winch. You will need a rope for this job so you aim to know how much weight the rope would
safely support. You are operating on a tight budget so matching the rope strength would be a cost saver. You
know that the logs are heavy, and estimate the heaviest as 1,000 lbs. From maps you verify the hill is steeped
at an angle of = 70° with respect to the vertical, and you estimate a coefficient of kinetic friction between a
log and the earthen hill as 0.5. When pulling a log you will ensure that the uphill acceleration is never more
than 3.0 ft/s². The maximum recommended load is th of the nominal strength for the ropes considered as
stated on the product labels, you have three ropes in mind: 12 kN, 18 kN, & 24 kN. Which one of these three
rope…

Thank you for the solution on this, we have been taught in university an alternative way of tackling this problem and it results in different final answers, please see in image attached. Now im wondering which one is correct? this is a new subject to us and im hoping to better understand the principles and workings of this, I come to bartleby to offer alternate ways of solving problems to better my understanding of given concepts. Does this example read true to yourself or is your way the correct way according to an external verified reference? Thanks again!
