Western Medicine Western Medicine is a system in which medical doctors and other healthcare professionals including nurses, pharmacists, and therapists treat symptoms and diseases using drugs, radiation, or surgery. The goal of western medicine is to intervene with effective measures of eliminating or limiting the source of disease, thus promoting healing. Western medicine focuses on pathology and curing of disease while alternative medicine focuses on the health and healing of the person. Western medicine is also driven by science which focuses on how physical systems in the body function. ( Tseui, 1978). Some components of western medicine are melorism, dominance over nature, activism, timeliness, therapeutic aggression, future orientation and standardization. Timeliness Timeliness refers to an appropriate time in which information regarding an event must be used before it loses its ability to influence the decision-making process. Timeliness of care in practice is the ability to quickly provide care after recognizing a need. The timelier a provider, the better their patients' health outcomes. (Stone e t al., 2019) In nursing, time is the most important thing. Timeliness of care can improve healthcare, health outcomes, patient experience and patient engagement and more. For patients in the hospital being not in their element takes a lot of effort the affects the patient mentally and emotionally. timely delivery of appropriate care can reduce mortality and morbidity. In oncology patience are dealing with a disease that does not wait for time. In oncology care delivery is made up of the measurement of a patient's perceptions
