Goal : Develop 2-3 broad general goals/statements for your project? What do you hope to achieve in the long-term? For our immediate project, we hope to obtain medical tools that will benefit our Animal Shelter. We hope to provide greater access to medical care and treatment, through simply physically being where needed and making it more financially accessible for those involved. In the long term, we hope to reduce the percentage of animal(specifically pet) deaths in the United States related to improper/unmet medical care or needs Objectives : Create 2-3 SMART statements, for each goal, that define how you will achieve your goals. - By the end of 6 months, the Lynchburg Humane society will have a fully operational, better-equipped medical examination room. - Over the course of the project, the cost of medical care for pets will be decreased for the portion of the community in central Virginia that cannot afford the full cost of care. - Over the course of the project, the (lack of) medical treatment-related pet deaths will be reduced by 10% in central Virginia. Activities : How are you going to meet your objectives? Write one, or more, activity for each objective. For obtaining better medical care, we will do our best to: 1. Create a more-equipped room in the Lynchburg Humane Society for medical use 2. For the greater area of Lynchburg, we will provide weekly/monthly pop-up clinics at decreased cost for those to come to and address medical needs for their pets. 3. We will provide more free programs for pet owners/ those interested in owning pets that cover basic medical knowledge and at-home care for pets to help owners better identify and care for issues within their pets, as well as other training/miscellaneous similar queries. Timeline: What is the timeframe for the objectives and activities in your project? How much time will you need to achieve your goal? The timeframe for starting to fund more accessible medical care and providing better medical tools to our local shelter will be to see updated technology in the shelter in the next six months, and after two years, to see a 60% decrease in pet death related to neglect/lack of medical provision.
