M Russel Ballard that says Heavenly Father wants us to accept His definition of marriage and obey His first commandment to multiply and replenish the earth-- not only to fulfill His plan but to find joy which His plan was designed to give His sons and daughters.
This is important because it puts it clear that accepting God's definition of marriage and
commandment means we are willing to do whatever He would want us to do as His sons and
daughters in order to find joy in this life.
I can see this to my daily life by keeping the law of chastity and only employing my procreation power only when married so that I can have joy in this life while at the same time keeping Heavenly Father's commandments.

Specific guidelines for the proper use of the ability to create life are vital elements in the Father’s plan. How we feel about and use that supernal power will determine in large measure our happiness in mortality and our destiny in eternity."
This enhanced my understanding of the principle of keeping the Law f Chastity because it made me understand that I would be punished for disobeying the law and how I keep this law would determine my happiness in this mortal life as well my destiny in the eternal life.
