2 Educational Philosophy Development Four Philosophy stages of education are used in the classrooms today all over the world. These philosophies are used in the classroom from the aspect of a curriculum that must be taught to students. In this paper, I will be discussing the key elements of my philosophy of education, the reasoning, factors that influenced the development, and theories that support it. Essentialism is a philosophy that should be included in schools but not solemnly. Disciplined education should be a part of the learning experience. Teaching students in a structured way is essential to the learning experience. Ensuring that all students can read, write, and speak logically is a must if they want to be successful in the professional world. It is very difficult to teach a child that lacks structure in a classroom environment. The progressivism philosophy is a tricky one but very relative to teaching children. Experience is known to be the best teacher, so learning through experience is a common factor in teaching. Giving students live learning experiences that could be compared to real-life experiences is how to help students grasp the content effectively. My core belief of the purpose of learning and educating is that children should learn in a healthy environment. Children need to be taught according to what’s needed to survive in life. Concepts of learning should reflect the needs that are required to be a successful adult. I feel that teachers should prepare students for the next level of education to make it easier for the student and the next teacher. Introducing the next-level concepts helps to prepare the student and aids in gaining confidence. Although the child might not master skills for the next grade level, it will help them in the next grade because it has already been introduced to him or her. Many teachers and parents don’t take early childhood seriously, but this stage of learning is the foundation of the remainder of that child’s learning experience.
