Chapter 11 Case Study
1.
What questions should you ask, related to religion, to understand how you might tailor your care to best serve them?
In my opinion I would ask “where are they from?” and “Where were your family from?”. Being asked with many questions that is possible that it is related to religion are individually responses that are inapplicable to members of any faith, let alone to members of other faiths. Being asked with many different types of questions with religion is personal and you don’t know if the individual is comfortable due to the many questions asked.
2.
Think through the care process in its entirety. Determine two ways that you could potentially gather information related to their religious beliefs and how it might impact their health beliefs. Describe how you would gather information using your two chosen methods.
Gathering information about religion can be hard because medical care may be hindered by the strict prayer times of some religions. You can try and gather information about their health by asking what their decisions regarding diet are, animal-based medicines, modesty, and the preferred gender of their health providers can be influenced by religion and spirituality.
For an example, in “The Sprit Catches you & you fall down” doctors indicates that he perhaps understood that the misunderstandings in Lia’s treatment hinged on a lack of communication
. The treatment that Lia was getting was horrible.
3.
If a patient stated that they believe their recent amputation is the result of a sin, karma, or as a punishment for their previous actions, how would that change your approach to care?
I wouldn’t bring up about their pass treatment since that is bad to bring up your patient’s confidential medical reports. The thing that I will change my approach to the medical care is that having the current detail strategy's analysis. Write everything down on a new medical sheet and see what medical reports needs to be reported.
4.
Now, consider a client who told you that they believe their situation is out of their control, what type of treatment plan would you encourage?
I would make my client as at ease as you can. I can try to make them feel at ease by introducing yourself, being friendly, assuring them that they will be treated confidentially, and appealingly explaining how your job functions. I will try and keep them always feel conformable and make them believe that everything will be okay. Getting the treatment that they deserve is everything as for a patent need.
5.
Finally, how would you approach healing in a patient who believes that healing is the job
of a supernatural being or energy force?
I believe what my heart believes
. My heart that heals is good medicine
, but a crushed spirit makes bones dry. All of you who are tired and burdened, come to me, and I will give you rest. “He boosts the power of the weak and gives strength
to the tired. Often an intermediary is involved, whose intercession may be all-
important in effecting the desired cure. I will always heal what the heart feels and what my heart follows. I will pray and have faith in myself on what to believe in.
