Civic Engagement Project Proposal
Step 1:
Around what organization or job will you center your Civic Engagement Project (CEP)?
The focus of my Civil Engagement Project will be the evangelism ministry of the church to which I belong. The ministry is known as On Fire For God.
Step 2:
What do you currently do or plan to do for this organization/job?
Our ministry will involve visiting various locations where the homeless are found. We will provide a variety of items, including blankets, clothing, food, and more. Additionally, we will hold a conference for children between the ages of 5 and 12 at a school. Our goal is to show them how these people live and how they came to be in such a situation. We also want to show them how to avoid falling into the same situation.
Step 3:
What do you think your CEP will look like? This can be a broad vision or idea rather than something specific. As you start to work on the project, your vision might change. You will discuss those changes in your weekly reflections.
As part of my CEP, I will present a Word document containing a list of all the activities we will be undertaking to fulfill our mission: assisting people experiencing homelessness. I intend to share photographs if possible and if I obtain authorization.
Step 4:
How does your CEP align with your values, and how will you incorporate the skills and/or knowledge you’ve gained from your Bellevue University major?
My values are:
1.
Truth/Honesty - The function of social and intimate relationships depends on honest but compassionate communication that promotes openness and trust. Honesty makes people feel closer to you as a person, and they're more likely to
open up about their situations when you're honest with them. As a result, we could better understand how they came to be in this situation.
2.
Faith/Spirituality
- People are more likely to overcome challenges when they have faith. Faith can provide emotional and mental strength to deal with stressful or depressive situations and find inner peace and strength. Also, the bible teaches us in Deuteronomy 15:11 For there will never cease to be poor in
the land. Therefore, I command you, "You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land."
3.
Service
- A helpful individual provides assistance spontaneously, with
an attitude of continuous collaboration. A helpful person contributes to his family, work, and the community by helping those he encounters in their pursuit of a
better future.
4.
Learning
- I am a person who is constantly seeking to learn new things. Sharing what I have learned in my life, whether professionally, socially, or spiritually, with these individuals could have a lasting impact on their lives and motivate them to learn whatever they need to get out of their current situation.
Step 5:
Describe how your CEP reflects engaged citizenship. I am engaged as a citizen by giving my time to people in need, particularly those in my
immediate community. Engaged citizens are just citizens who are actively involved in their communities and trying to improve them.
Step 6:
How can your CEP make the world or society a better place?
We can make the world a better place by helping the homeless. Many of us have had everything at our fingertips. Some of these people too, but for some reason, they have
lost everything. There are others who have never had anything in life due to abandonment or a lack of motivation to make better decisions. It is possible to improve these people's lives and help them become productive citizens by showing them that there is still hope for their lives and showing them affection and love.
Step 7:
What steps will you take to see your vision through? Give a broad overview.
To fulfill this vision, we will visit various locations where assistance is required. Not only will we work with homeless people, but we will also be visiting schools to share the testimonies of these people and make them understand why it is essential to be an engaged citizen and how their decisions can impact their future.
Step 8:
Who at the organization will be directing, guiding, or checking in with you? Provide their full name, email address, and phone number.

Step 9:
How will present your CEP Report? This can be a broad vision or idea. As you get further into your project, your vision may change. You’ll document those changes in your weekly reflections.
As part of my CEP report, I will present my experiences in a Word document, along with photos, if possible.
