Kendi’s formula applied to DiAngelo • How does WF (the whole book / her argument (institutional racism) / the phenomena of white fragility as a response to disequilibrium) fit into segregationist, assimilationist, and anti-racist? I think white fragility fits into segregationist, assimilationist, and anti-racist because Kendi writes a well-written point about white privilege, having only white people behave and act a certain way that gives a more graceful outcome versus a person of color, she has also talked about power, most importantly ideologies that whites had back when they owned slaves. Kendi’s formula as to privilege/discrimination coming first followed by justification followed by the emotional response (WF) “Whenever you—as a person of color—do not want to bear the burden of pointing out a white person’s racism but do not want to let it go, you might ask a white person whom you trust to deal with it. While addressing white racism is rarely easy, white people can certainly bear the brunt of a hostile response less painfully than people of color can. There may even be a little less fragility because the intervention is coming from another white person.
