Briefly describe the ethical issue, challenge, or dilemma in the case study. 3. Each case study presents a question. Answer the question and support your response with details from the case and/or course resources. I’ve decided to choose the case study “Kobe Bryant’s Past: A Tweet Too Soon”. This case study discusses NBA legend Kobe Bryant and his unfortunate death that transpired on January 26, 2020. His unfortunate passing caused reporter Felicia Sonmez to tweet a link to an article in the year of 2003 in which Kobe Bryant faced allegation of sexual assault. Sonmez faced a lot of negative backlashes from releasing the past article. Many questioned why you would want to cause more harm to the family. Whereas she stated she didn’t want the allegations to be erased due to his passing. Question: Is there a limit to truth-telling? How long (if at all) should a journalist wait after a person’s death before resurfacing sensitive information about their past? I believe there is a limit to truth telling. I feel in this circumstance there is a time and place for everything. I feel with the allegations from 2003 from the time of his unfortunate passing is irrelevant. I feel if people where I the need to look this information up it is already publicized in the manner it was necessary to bring this information up at a time of tragedy. I feel journalists should leave all the information for the public to look up if they feel the need and not add on to a situation with negativity.
