Biblical Worldview A biblical worldview tends to place God at the center. Christians are said to not only love and sever God, but to also share His word. It is the main belief that God’s word, or rather the Bible, is the absolute truth. Somebody with a biblical worldview believes that God sent His own son, known as Jesus Christ, to live a sinless life, while spreading His word, and finally dying for all of humanity’s sin. By not trusting wholly in Jesus nor repenting of one’s sins, a person is then unable to spend eternity in Heaven with the Heavenly father and his son. Furthermore, salvation cannot be earned. Christian are called upon to share their faith through the biblical worldview and their belief in Jesus Christ. In John 5:24, it states “very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.” Christian Philosophy of Education When hearing the words “Christian Education,” it can be construed that this means a majority of studying the Bible and following a dress code. But this is not the case. While the Bible is used in a Christian education, there is much similarity between a Christian education and a public school education. The difference between the two is a Christian education promotes a more Christ-centered learning and living (online.mc.edu, 2018). With the similarity of curriculum between a Christian school and a public school, where they begin to differ is where the Christian school integrates the truths of the Bible into the curriculum (online.mc.edu, 2018). Both public schools and Christian schools work on character building for their students, however, a Christian school believes that a student’s behavior is based on Biblical principles, that have been set forth by both the Old and New Testaments (online.mc.edu, 2018). Implications of educational practice In order to provide a proper Christian education, it is necessary to understand that both the motives of learning, or rather the philosophy, and the content/program belong to Christ. Therefore, the teaching method should also be Christian based. In an example of the subject area of history, the biblical approach will teach not only history as a whole, but also the holistic views of history and a detailed examination of its individual fragments in the close connection in its entirety. To meet a true biblical approach to education, it must reveal that the source and purpose of all knowledge is inextricably linked with God and His design of humankind.
