ID guiding principles believe that the universe is primarily created by a
higher power. ID endorses the idea that Earth is billions of years old, despite
having been made for a reason, as one of the old Earth creationist beliefs, and
the proponents think that an unknown intelligence actively directed the
evolution of all life, which is frequently equated with the Christian God. The
basic biological mechanism behind the hypothesis of Darwinian evolution,
natural selection, is supported by science, although it is rejected as an unproven
notion by both schools of thought. ID questions information that seems to
contradict their beliefs while relying on alternative interpretations of the
available scientific evidence to support them. The addition of Intelligent Design
as a new viewpoint in this volume (Four Views on Creation) has implications
for both a Christian conception of origins and a reading of Scripture. This is
true even though people of other faiths, like Muslims and Jews, as well as
atheists, accept it. Notes by Stephen Meyer:
Even though intelligent design is not based on religious doctrine, it does support a
fundamental principle of the biblical worldview that life and the universe are the works
of a designing intellect, which is identified as the God of the Bible.
The position I chose is semi-compatible while also being incompatible with evolution as well as the Bible
this is because the position I chose believes that there is something but they do not call it specifically
God thus also saying that we evolved from something
