Educational Philosophy and Classroom Environment
Your Educational Philosophy (10 points)
My Educational philosophy is deeply rooted in Lev Vygotsky's sociocultural theory of
development, with a strong emphasis on scaffolding in the classroom setting. I believe in
creating a dynamic and inclusive learning environment where students actively engage in
collaborative activities, fostering social interactions and peer learning. As a teacher, my role is to
provide the necessary support and guidance to help students bridge the gap between their current
abilities and desired learning outcomes, gradually reducing support as they become more
independent learners. I value metacognition and encourage students to reflect their thinking
process, promoting self awareness and self regulation. Ultimately, I aim to empower students to
become confident, self directed learners who are active participants in their own education.
Creating Your Future Classroom Environment (10 points)
Write a paragraph (minimum of 5 sentences) answering the following questions. You must
answer at least 3 questions including #5.
1.
What is your identity?
2.
Which group(s) or students may this help you connect with?
3.
How do you plan to celebrate and honor students’ identities that differ from your own?
4.
How do you plan to learn about your students and create respectful relationships?
5.
How will you create a classroom environment that is inviting, equitable, and inclusive?
My identity has multiple factors that shaped my background, experiences, and values. I identify
as a lifelong learner and a dedicated educator committed to fostering a nurturing and inclusive
classroom environment. My aim will be to connect the different diversities of my students by
seeking, understanding, and celebrating their unique identities. This can be done by planning
diverse perspectives into the curriculum, using inclusive language, and my own experiences. The
classroom setting has to be inviting, equitable, and understanding of multiple backgrounds. By
valuing respect the classroom will continue to thrive.
