2 In this week’s module I read a quote “in order for you to succeed others must succeed as well”, and I thought how simple that sounded but how often others don’t think or act with this type of thinking. Very rarely do others wish success on others when it comes to business matters with money, but in certain businesses like restaurants I could see how others succeeding could be beneficial for yourself. As in the restaurant example if they sourced local with farmers the better the crops do the more, they would harvest and the more the restaurant would receive due to the better crops. Good for both parties involved, in my job most people are out for themselves so helping others to succeed isn’t the priority for most! Hopefully as society evolves and has a chance to how other cultures do thing; we can use things from their culture that have the potential to maximize our work environment potential. Cultural relativity, on the other hand, means that the appropriateness of any positive or negative custom must be evaluated about how this habit fits with other group habits. Cultural relativity does not imply that because members of some savage tribe are permitted to behave in a certain way, this fact gives intellectual warrant for such behavior in all groups (Wikipedia contributors, 2023). I think this week’s discussion board is something to be examined within work culture especially my office the one upper and the constant attention being paid to what others are doing that doesn’t affect operations, but you feel uncomfortable, so you want to speak up! I have seen in numerous people report things that didn’t affect the workplace but had issues with something someone did or wanted to know why someone was able to do this, but they couldn’t. Ultimately in that case someone was observing a religious holiday and asked if it was possible to switch shifts to allow them to have more time to observe the customs, but due to the unknown people assumed it was favoritism because they didn’t get similar accommodations, but someone else’s religious beliefs were approved. In my workplace better understanding others
