Report
Eisenhower’s belief that war is able to bring peace is agreeable to a certain extent. Naturally, the end of a war will typically bring about more stability and peace than before. There are many factors that contribute to war bringing peace. This thought process aligns with the realist perspective that war can often establish peace by redistributing power, balancing powers, and changing power structures entirely. Another way that war can bring peace after it’s over is through the resolution of conflict. Eisenhower’s perspective aligns more with my thought process, that war has the ability to destroy and restore but is still uncertain and should only be used as a last resort. Luttwak’s approach views war as a method to work towards specific goals, looking at the benefits of wars when fought effectively.
