Individual Project
There are three different kinds of organizations in criminal justice called public administration. The first organization is public then private and lastly charitable organizations. I am going to be breaking down all three and giving some comparisons. These different organizations all serve a purpose for the public and the surrounding communities and countries. In public administration, an organization has three parts. these organizations deal with acting authority figures, procedures, and associations that are tied to enforcing laws and many standards enacted by legislative persons, executives, and courts. “(1) all
procedures, organizations, and people acting in authority positions connected with implementing laws and different principles received or issued by lawmaking bodies, administrators, and courts (numerous exercises are additionally concerned with the definition of these rules and standards); and (2) a field of scholastic study and expert preparing professionals for public-administration vocations at all levels of government.” (Board, E. (2016). The public administration sector has stakeholders that support and share similar views on how to operate the public administration sector. These sub-groups include media,
public, public safety, event organizer, elected officials, law enforcement, and transportation agencies” FIGURE 1.1 Stakeholders (Board, E. (2016).
The public part of public administration has moving components in the private sector which is why they both share a variety of similarities. Many of the public sector structure was borrowed from private businesses and then implemented in the government. This change was implemented to make the government more professional and business-minded. Public organizations answer to the public and the government that funds them. Their interest is in the public and vice versa. The aim of public administration is to support the public’s interest. This means they want to hear from the communities they serve. They want to know how they can better serve the community; they want to know the concerns and suggestions the public might have.
The private section of public administration doesn’t have to answer the public and they only push for their interest. Often the public and private organization interest is not always on the same level. Sometimes the private organization's interest is a direct hit to the public. Privat companies do receive funds from the government for certain programs same as the public organizations, but the amounts are different though private prisons want more money for their facilities for housing inmates. It
is well known that private prisons are compensated for each inmate they hold as well as public-owned prisons, but the funding amount allowed is set differently. Private organizations do not have as much oversight as public organizations do.
Charitable organizations help both public and private organizations by putting together philanthropy work in the communities and sometimes partnering with the public or private organization. They take in donations big and small, often times the donations are
