I believe that the role of media in American Democracy is positive because media serves as a primary source of information, helping citizens stay informed about current events, policies, and issues that affect them. It encompasses various forms of media, communication channels, and platforms that facilitate the exchange of information. The common vision of the information commons has evolved over time, shaped by technological advancements, changes in media landscapes, and shifts in societal attitudes. 3.
What is echo-chambers?
Echo chambers are like when people surround themselves with others who share the same beliefs and opinions. It’s like being in a bubble where you mostly hear ideas that align with what you already think. 4.
Explain how the media evolved in terms of technology in U.S. history.
The media has come a long way is the U.S. history with technology. From newspaper and radio to TV and the internet, there have been big changes. Each new tech brought faster news and wider reach. 5.

I believe the journalists can have personal beliefs and ideologies that may influence their
perspectives. However, its challenging to eliminate personal biases. It is believed that certain media outlets or individual journalist may lean toward liberal or conservative perspectives. It’s essential for media consumers to be aware of potential biases and to seek information from a variety of sources to gain a more comprehensive understanding of a given issue. 6.
What is the role of ideology in the media?
Ideology plays a big role in the media. Different outlets might have their own beliefs and perspectives, shaping how they present news and information. It can influence what stories get covered and how they’re told, affecting how people see the world around them. 7.

shows serve as a medium for disseminating information on current events, political issues, and societal concerns. They bring experts, politicians, and commentators to discuss and analyze various topics, helping viewers stay informed about different perspectives. 8.

Media bias refers to the perception or presence of a systematic preference or prejudice in the way news is reported or presented. Biases in the media can manifest in various forms, influencing how information is framed, selected, and portrayed. 9.

What media do you watch/consume?
The media that I watch the most is CNN.

Explain if what you watch and read corresponds with your political ideology?
Based on the chart the media a watch does not really correspond with my political ideology because it political bias is neutral and is a fair interpretation of the news.

If you discover that a certain media that you watch or read is biased, would you be willing to change channels or subscriptions to newspapers or magazines.
I think that I would still watch that media just to see other perspectives of the political ideology. d.
How willing are you to watch or read something that does not correspond to your own beliefs or views?
I am okay with watching something that does not correspond to my own beliefs just to see if I understand or somewhat agree with the opposite point of view. e.
Do you think that American would do better off they read the “other side” as well?
I believe that America would be better off if they read the “other side” as well because it opens their knowledge to maybe understand the “other side.”

Allegations of liberal or conservative bias can lead to a perception that the media is shaping narratives to favor one political ideology over another. 10. Trump was a TV entertainment personality and was using Twitter all the time. When he became president, he used his Twitter account to stir passions and sometimes make inflammatory statements uncharacteristic of a president. Explain what it means when the president “going public”.
When the President “goes public,” it means that they are actively engaging with the public, typically through public addresses, speeches, press conferences, or other forms of communication. Going public is a strategic communication approach employed by presidents to directly address and appeal to the public, bypassing traditional political channels and communicating directly with citizens.
