Conflict Mediation Topic Approval (10 points) The final project of this class will give you the opportunity to practice your conflict and negotiation skills in a real-world setting. You will choose a real-life conflict situation involving real people (i.e., nothing from a scripted movie or television show) from either social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, etc.), newspaper articles, podcasts, web videos (YouTube), online forums (Reddit, Tumblr), reality TV shows, talk shows, etc. This must be a conflict where you do not personally know the individuals involved so you can approach the conflict as a neutral third-party. To begin your preparation for the final paper and avoid repeat presentations on similar conflicts, before you are able to move forward with working on your Conflict Mediation Project you will submit your conflict for instructor approval via Canvas by including the below information noted in the rubric. Conflicts will be reserved by those who submit their topic approval assignment first. If someone else submits the same conflict before your assignment is turned in, I will work with you to find a different conflict to focus your project on.
