How are interest groups different than political parties? What an influence group does is strive to influence the government while a political party has candidates who want to run the government. 6. How do interest groups attempt to influence public policy? Interest groups attempt to influence public policy through lobbyist whose purpose is to effect change at every entry point of these public policy.
7. Should interest groups be allowed in our government? Why or why not? Yes, interest groups should be allowed in our government because they provide they provide resources on complex policy issues for political decision makers and the general public and they represent minority groups of society. 8. Is the website opensecrets providing Americans with a useful information or not? Explain. Yes, the website is providing Americans with useful information because it is important to know how certain views of our government become and it is good to know if these are theirs are if they are just doing it because of money they are receiving from doing so and the website gives you those with even more detail. 9. Google Jack Abramoff. Explain his story and did any reform pertaining to lobbying take place after his conviction? Jack Abramoff was a lobbyist who took his get arounds to far to the point that he went to jail for them and he discusses how he realized what he did was wrong. However, he discusses how nothing has truly been reformed after his conviction and he feels it needs to be done. 10. Venn Diagram: Fill out the boxes by using the word bank.
