DISPOSITIONS ASSIGNMENT 2 1. Social Responsibility As educators, we know that each child learns in their own unique way, and it is our job as their teachers to foster that. Knowing what each child needs in order to be successful is key when working in special education. I believe that through this course I have learned what is takes to make sure that all needs of a student are being met. That includes working with students who exhibit challenging behaviors and what supports they may need to help them be successful in the school setting. 2. Commitment I believe that I have put commitment into this class by completing all of my assignments and putting in the hours to make sure I was understanding the material we were learning about. I reviewed the comments that my professor would make on past assignments and apply them to my remaining ones. I was able to use a lot of what I learned in this class to my current job as an instructional assistant in a special needs’ preschool classroom. 3. Reflective Practice I was able to take what I learned in this course and apply it to where I work. Currently I have a student that has been exhibiting challenging behaviors in the classroom, I took the knowledge that I learned in this course and used some strategies with that student. My textbook and reading materials were great resources for when I was trying to come up with strategies to help this student. I would not have been able to do this if it were not for this course. I also learned a lot from my classmates when reading their discussion posts and their feedback on mine. 4. Integrity I believe that I demonstrated integrity in my class work. I made sure that everything I turned in was my own work and not one of others. I also made sure that when I used references, they were probably cited in APA format. I take a lot of pride in the work that I did throughout this course and put forth a lot of effort. I was always proud of the work that I completed.
