The assessment tool that I will be addressing for this discussion post is interviews. This will be a tool I will be using in my future career path as well as the career I am currently working in. An interview is part of the psychological assessment which is the gathering and integration of psychology-related data for the goal of making a psychological evaluation (Cohen et al., 2022). Interviews are described as the gathering of information through direct communication involving reciprocal exchange (Cohen et al., 2022). I have recently started working as a case manager for the Elmore County Domestic Violence Counsel. In the role of case manager, it is my duty to conduct interviews over the phone as well as in person. When a client is initially screened over the phone, we ask questions pertaining to their safety, their housing situation, and any immediate needs they may have. We then schedule an in-person interview that asks more personal questions. These interviews are necessary to better get to know the person in order to help this person the best we can and provide them with the recourses they need. Interviews help me personally get to know where the client is coming from, what their current mental state is, any disabilities they may have that we made need to accommodate and helps me to start building good repour with the client. Concerning the question of psychological assessments being biblical I want to point out the apostle Paul. When Paul was writing the letters to the Corinthians and the Philippians, he was assessing the individual needs of each city. Each city did not need the same advice. In the book of Corinthians Paul addressed a number of issues including division among believers, sexual immorality, quarrels, marriage and singleness. Paul's letter to the Corinthians also talks about living generously and how Jesus lives and how that changes everything. In the book of Philippians Paul's was speaking about losing his life for Christ's sake and was encouraging the Philippians to center their lives on Christ so that they could also experience the joy and freedom in Christ that he was experiencing. So yes, I do think psychological assessment could be viewed as a biblically supported practice that Christian professionals could use to help others. References Cohen, R. J., Schneider, W.
