While observing my Turnitin document report, I noticed that out of my whole paper, my Turnitin similarity score was only a 6% match to someone else’s paper that was also submitted to the Turnitin webpage. My similarity score on the scale they used was green, which I figured out later what that meant. There were between 1 and 24 words that were similar between my document and the documents submitted to Turnitin. The different matches located within my paper were the ones I referenced in my paper, and then one submitted to Turnitin called Oxford & Cherwell Valley College. The part that was referenced in another paper was the very first part of my paragraph, which stated, “ Mental health and Substance abuse are two very…”. The source that matched that was from www. charlottestories.com. After reading through my Turnitin report, I changed a few minor punctuation and a few words and had to rewrite a few sentences to make them more punctually correct. Lastly, I also used Grammarly to check my papers for plagiarism and to ensure proper grammar. I am going to use both of these resources in every paper shortly. These two resources are beneficial for learning more about correct punctuation. I have always been horrible at writing papers, but having Grammarly and the Turnitin resource helps me realize within my writing what I have done wrong and correct it before utilizing Grammarly. Grammarly is used in case I miss something that needs to be changed in my papers.
