1 Fun Intergenerational Activities! Age Group Selected: 4 Years Old Project Group: Group 5 February 27th, 2024 A brief description of your play activities The play activities we have attached below are very beneficial to both of the age groups, as well as interactive. As mentioned in this week's readings, collaborative and physical activities are very beneficial for all age groups, and develop positive growth (Vella, 2011). With this in mind, we have decided to incorporate three exciting activities into our sessions. This includes Cooking (Through the activity Top Chef), a Scavenger Hunt (Titled Robin Hood) and a drawing activity titled Picasso 101. Along with being interactive and helping build the fundamental motor skills for our 4-year-old participants, we also have physically active activities in the form of the scavenger hunt that can be used to improve the Mental Health of the elderly participants, as they can roam around as opposed to staying in the same room for an entire day (Columnist, 2011). All in all, our play activities encourage the perfect mix of creativity, physical activity, positive reinforcement, and fun for both our elderly age group and youthful age group. Activity 1: Top Chef: • Activity Objectives: To Cook a Fancy Meal with Grandma and her older friends • Materials Needed: Step 2 kitchen kit. • Activity Descriptions showing time allocation: This activity can take 45 mins to an hour (plus if the child is having fun we can extend the time). - Welcome to Top Chef, here you and Grandma will make a three-course meal at a 5 Michelin-starred restaurant. This is a race against time to make these three meals: For the appetizer; you and grandma will work together to make a carrot soup, look around the kitchen and find extra ingredients you want to add to the carrot soup. For your main meal you and grandma will be making a Grade A beef wagyu burger, what are some things you and grandma like on your burger? And finally you and grandma will be making a two-tier cake, your choice of flavour!! Each meal should take 15 minutes. GOOD LUCK!!! 1.
