Dondalea Stubbs 1/9/2023 PSY 201 w/ Dell’Anno 2-3 Character & Academics What Good Schools Do The article I chose for this week is “Character and Academics: What Good Schools Do”, and this article talks about the importance of educational characteristics and how those who aren’t taught these values tend to suffer more in the academic field. Based on the information I gathered in the article, I have learned lack of educational character is a much bigger deal than I knew. Evidence shows that excellence in academics was a direct relationship to schools that regularly incorporated character education in their operational procedures. Some of the noticeable differences of the performance of education across the board was that those who incorporated the character education into daily teaching were more successful academically. Schools without tend to suffer a higher rate of failed academics, obesity, gangs, drug use, teen pregnancy, etcetera. All th information given is quantitative data from schools across the board; conjecture was not a provided variable in this data standard. Well written with a lot of good data and very little bias. On my personal opinions, as someone who moved around a lot, I grew up on schools with higher fail rates.
