2 Peer-Reviewed Articles Bitencourt Frizzo, G., Xavier Arteche, A., Balem Yates, D., Araújo de Sousa, D., de Mendonça Filho, E., Rezende Bazon, M., Aparecida da Silva, M., Santos da Silva, P., Esteves Mateus, V. L., Riboli Marasca, A., Nunes Cauduro, G., Lopes Almeida, M., & Ruschel Bandeira, D. (2022). Challenges in Developmental Psychology Research During the COVID-19 Pandemic.   Psico-USF ,   27 (3), 567–580. https://doi.org/10.1590/1413- 82712034270313 This article examines how the Covid-19 pandemic challenged developmental researchers' search field. The article discussed the adaption strategies for developmental researchers since most of the research was done face-to-face. The researchers looked at strategies to adapt different ways in the research field, including plans for recruiting, collection procedures, observational research protocols, and participant feedback. The researchers pointed out that strategies for recruiting did not change as much as many use social media or recruitment ads. Regarding adapting for collections, the researchers discussed collection by phone and sent questionnaires to the participants. Regarding the observation collection, the researcher discussed a study where an observation was done via a participant's phone camera. The researchers also examined the option of conducting synchronous interviews through different platforms. Miller, J. G., Engelbrecht, J., Wang, Z., & Tsudaka, G. (2021). Toward greater cultural sensitivity in developmental psychology.   Applied Developmental Science ,   25 (1), 1–13. https://doi.org/10.1080/10888691.2020.1789348
3 This article examines how measuring culture in development psychology is demanding and how the researchers incorporated culture into their cross-cultural developmental research. The researchers looked at “Individual difference approaches to culture are appealing in that when culture is assessed as an individual difference measure it can be directly empirically related to psychological outcome measures that are assessed within the same study participants” (Miller, Engelbrecht, Wang & Tsudaka, 2021, p. 3). The researchers discussed adopting new approaches with greater cultural sensitivity. This means going beyond an over-reliance on the individualism- collectivism dichotomy. The article stated that the individualism-collectivism dichotomy is limited to cultural sensitivity and has a greater sense of individualism than collectivism. When the researchers looked at incorporating culture into their cross-cultural developmental research, they looked at social attribution, development of knowledge of emotional display rules, development of interpersonal motivation, sacrifice during emerging adulthood, and culture and neuroscience. The researchers discussed the importance of giving attention to symbolic models of culture and not just theoretical and empirical attention to ecological models. Assignment When choosing these two articles, I knew they were reliable because they were peer- reviewed and showed research behind their conclusions. The articles were also marked as peer- reviewed articles within the library database. In my undergraduate program, I was taught to hit the advanced search button and make sure peer-reviewed articles had a checkmark next to them. This will ensure that I will see primarily peer-reviewed articles for my search. Something else I looked at with the pieces is the publication dates. It is essential to look at the dates as information is constantly changing. The data could need to be updated depending on the article is age

4 ( Guldbrandsen & Burton, 2018). Pieces that have citations are essential to look at. This means the researchers of the articles have support to help back up their information. Scholarly writing is aimed at an academic audience, reports on research and theories, and cites sources used to help authenticate the study that was completed. However, not all scholarly articles are peer-reviewed, yet all peer-reviewed journals are knowledgeable (Walden Library, 2009). Peer reviews “are journals that use a specific scholarly review process to try to ensure the accuracy and reliability of published articles.” (Walden University Library, 2009). The review process includes the article being reviewed by experts within the field for accuracy and reliability (Walden University Library, 2009). They are just doing this process to filter out invalid or unreliable resources. A scholarly practitioner is concerned with a practical problem that requires solutions. This informed practitioner continues applying evidence-based scholarship to their practice ( Walden University, LLC, 2012) . The best way to have evidence-based scholarships is to use peer-reviewed scholarly articles that have been reviewed for accuracy.
